Romanian Language Voice Recognition
Submitted by Neuronyx on Wed, 04/18/2007 - 18:00.In the last two days I've played with Dragon Naturally Speaking 8.0 Italian version and found that training and voice recognition is almoust the same as Romanian from a phonetically point of view (both languages are Latin based, very similar in fact when it comes to vocals or other sounds) and even without too much training or a quality microphone, I have reached a very good speech recognition rate.

Adding words to vocab list from documents
Submitted by jcliffe on Thu, 11/02/2006 - 16:41.Posting this to the multi-lingual forum because it seems to be a problem unique to my french user profile(s).
I'm using the French-Canadian version of DNS 8 Preferred, with multiple user profiles (some english, some french). For all my profiles, I'm using the "Add Words from Documents" feature to add words to the vocab list for each user. The documents that I'm using to do this have lots of words with incorrect capitalization (e.g. "canada" instead of "Canada"), and I don't want to pick those up. So, in the discovery config window, I choose "Find unknown words", "Preview the list", and "Adapt to writing style". I do not choose "find known words with unknown capitalization".

Hi all,
Im new to this forum, and to speech recognition software, and Im having trouble training Dragon 8 (spanish version) to my voice. I imagine it´s similar in the English version. What happens is that I´m supposed to repeat a phrase ("welcome to the world of Dragon," but in spanish), but I´ve repeated it continuously for more than 5 minutes, and it never seems to move on to the next steps of the training. The instruction manual isn´t very helpful on this point.
Language multiplicity in version 9
Submitted by itamarez on Sat, 09/30/2006 - 14:28.LANGUAGE MULTIPLICITY IN DRAGON NATURALLYSPEAKING VERSION 9
I have finally installed Dragon NaturallySpeaking, version 9, for the following languages: English US, English UK, Spanish, French, Dutch, and German. English and Spanish were installed from the Spanish CD version; French, Dutch and German were installed from the Dutch CD version. The bottom line is that all of these languages work quite well, and switching between them is relatively short, though far from ideal. Of course, everything must be evaluated in comparative terms. If the alternative is the way Windows Vista is designed for language switching, DNS definitely offers the best alternative.
Vocola and 2 Languages
Submitted by gilbertpremo on Thu, 09/07/2006 - 02:39.When I switch DNS 8 to a language other than English (i.e., switch from User-English to User-French), Vocola no longer works.
What is the trick for making Vocola work in 2 languages?
VOIP
Submitted by mark on Wed, 08/16/2006 - 17:37.This Strictly Speaking has nothing to do with voice recognition -- and yet it does have communication over the net (and as not using the keyboard is what voice recognition is all about, in my opinion it is connected).
Does the dictation box exist in Italian or other languages?
Submitted by emiliaserv on Mon, 05/15/2006 - 18:57.For some reason, my English manual says nothing about the dictation box. Not surprisingly therefore, I can find nothing about it in the Italian manual.
My question is therefore directed specifically at owners of the Italian version, assuming it does exist, what is the Italian equivalent of the "Show dictation box" command?
dictating in multiple languages with DNS or VV
Submitted by vivalamusica on Sat, 10/08/2005 - 19:26.I'm currently using the Italian version of DNS latest ed., which also includes the UK English and US English modules.
Now, I would also like to dictate in French and German, but it is my undestanding that this is difficult to accomplish, even buying each language version separately. Now, is this at all possible? If limitations do exist, does VV also have them? (I also have VV 10 but never tried it.)
Thanks
