NaturallySpeaking 8/SDK on Vista
NaturallySpeaking 8 runs fine in Vista #5384, but there is a problem with the NS SDK. It is possible to create a VB reference to the NS SDK DLL, DNSTK10.dll, and to add the speech engine and other controls to the toolbar. Placing the Dragon Engine Control on a VB form results in an immediate "Dragon Engine Error" message. Other Dragon controls can the placed on a form without problems and the properties of all the Dragon controls are properly displayed under VB.
Executing a Dragon Engine Control function results in the error message "system.windows.form.AxHost+InvalidActiveXState Exception was thrown".
Has anyone had any experience with running the NaturallySpeaking SDK controls on Vista ? The same program code works properly with Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP.
Thank you.

Robbie,
Because of some of the underlying code changes in Windows Vista, not all of the SDK controls will execute properly. Particularly the engine controls are looking for things that no longer exist in the same place or the same manner as with Windows 2003 server and Windows XP.
This is also 1 of the reasons why DNS 8 will not work 100% under Vista.
Everyone is just going to have to wait until Nuance has the final RC code for Vista from Microsoft. Nuance is not going to support any version of DNS for Vista until likely the end of the year.
