GN Netcom boom "drooping"

I have a GN Netcom 405 that I have been using for a couple of years and it is the best headset microphone I have ever used. However, the boom leading to the microphone element is a thin metal wire, which swivels within a plastic holder to allow the user to adjust the angle to his preference. Lately, this boom and the microphone element have been "drooping" downwards, as the swiveling mechanism seems to have lost its "tension". I can still dictate fine, but this drooping is somewhat annoying and might eventually become so severe that it would interfere with the patient.

I'm wondering how best to correct this. I tried taping it with Scotch tape, but this has not helped. All I can think of is using some more robust form of tape or glue, but before I tried that I thought I would see if others had better suggestions. Martin or anyone?

Here is a link to a picture of the microphone from Martin's site, for your convenience: http://www.speechcontrol.com/microphones/prod_deta...

Meph

The GN Netcom headset has a two year warranty. See:

Replaced! Just wanted to

Replaced!

Just wanted to update this thread. GN Netcom did not go by the date of purchase in determining whether the headset was under warranty, but went by a serial number on the microphone itself, and said that the headset was still under warranty. I shipped to them, and they shipped me a brand new replacement within about a week. So kudos to them for good customer service!
