Cannot install DNS 10, standard, french, concurrently with my English and Spanish version of DNS 9
Bought on line the DNS 10 in french, standard version and after downloading and starting install, got the message that DNS10 could not coexist with previous copies of DNS. Since I have my original all legitimate CDs of DNS9, decided to go ahead. DNS10 erased DNS9 but worked very nicely.
Tried to reload DNS9. Reloaded and worked ok, but DNS10 stopped working, saying that it requires version 10.0.200.5 of nstex50.dll but the version presently installed is 9.10.0.141.5.
A look at Program files\Nuance\ shows that both directories exist (DNS9 and 10), both with the corresponding version of nstex50.dll.
This seems to be a matter of regedit and one registry overwriting the other.
Has it been published anywhere that you can´t have both DNS9 and DNS10 installed for different lenguages? Is this normal? Am I being restricted to the amount of lenguages I can handle (I am not asking them to be concurrent?
This IS a real problem. I try to make a living from these tools
Regards and thanks in advance.

To the best of my knowledge,
To the best of my knowledge, you cannot have DNS 9 and DNS 10 on a machine at the same time. I believe that all language versions have to be the same (9 or 10).
That's the best of my knowledge.

I have no actual experience
I have no actual experience with this, and I think Skip is correct.
I would advise you to buy the "Dutch package", then you have french and english with it. Only you have to buy spanish additional. Go for at least the preferred versions. And go for version 10 (with SP1!) anyway.
My 5 cents,

The answer to your question is "Yes" it is published, albeit a long time ago, that you cannot stall two different versions of DNS.
You can install multiple languages as long as each language version is the same DNS version. That is, you can install DNS 10.1 French,, English, German, etc., but you can't mix and match DNS 10 and DNS 9 versions. When you do, only the last install will be active and accessible.
