Internet Explorer 7 dropping keys

Just as a word of warning to others, Internet Explorer 7 has a habit of dropping keystrokes, which makes writing reliable macros for it essentially impossible. I cannot even get "page down" to work reliably!

I see this even when typing physical keys at times. It seems like IE 7 is cat napping and slow to wake up when keys come in, missing the first one or sometimes more keystrokes.

This seems to be related to IE 7 doing other things; for example, disabling plug-ins made the problem much less frequent for me. Judging by Google results, this problem is common and unrelated to DNS.

I cannot use IE 8 yet (work requirement), so I do not know if it still has this bug. I am going to try Firefox at home in hopes that it is more tractable to voice control.

If anyone has found a solution or workaround to this problem, or has/has not seen this problem with IE 8, please reply.

PS, this problem did not exist with IE 6.

* Using SendSystemKeys does

* Using SendSystemKeys does not help

* I think when Dragon/Vocola sends a sequence of keys, it is sent as a single Windows message and thus either all gets through or is all dropped.
