Both Microsoft Word 2007 and Outlook 2007 have their own DNS add-ins (dgnword.dll & dgnoutlook.dll).

Am I correct in assuming that when you say that you couldn't activate the add-in that you went to the Trust Center | Add-Ins into Microsoft Word 2007 and found that the NatSpeak Word Addin was listed under the inactive or disabled sections? And I also correct in assuming that you attempted to enable it from there but that the NatSpeak Word Addin would simply return to its previous status of either inactive or disabled?

If the answer to the questions above are YES, then try running a Repair of DNS (Windows Control Panel | Programs and Features | Dragon NaturallySpeaking <#> | Change).

There are any number of possibilities here. That is, it could be that a registry entry got corrupted, somehow the program files for DNS are not working properly and require repair, and add-in necessary for supporting the NatSpeak Word Addin has been disabled, etc., etc. ad infinitum ad nauseam. Keep in mind that when you are posing the question or asking anyone on any of the forums to help you with a particular problem, you need to paint a picture of everything that is occurring on your system is, step-by-step, from A-Z.
