computer settings

I work with Dragon every day all day and enjoy playing with the computer settings like adjusting processor priority and affinity and toying with page file etc. Every time I think I have stumbled on to something that enhances Dragons performance after a while I suspect it was the placebo effect. Any of you have any favorite computer settings you think make a difference? Drew  |

On Windows XP turn off
On Windows XP turn off ctfmon, see http://www.speechcomputing.com/node/1352 and the following quote:
To remove ctfmon.exe if your using Windows XP and Office 2007 follow these steps:
- Open "Regional and Language Options" in the control panel
- Click the "Languages" tab
- Click the "Details" button under "Text services and input languages" heading
- Click the "Advanced" tab
- Place a check mark in "Turn off advanced text services" under the "System Configuration" heading

For Vista this is not needed.
Other efforts to tune Windows in order to make NatSpeak faster or more stable did not give a noticable effect to me. So no additional tuning options for/from me.
