Error message: ViaVoice Locale Window not responding

Just in the last few days, VV sometimes will not open and task manager shows nothing. When I go to shut down/restart to clear the glitch, I get the above error message. Rebooting does the trick every time. I had never seen that error message before.
The only recent changes I have made is uninstalling Norton Internet Security (after using for many years) and installing Avira and Comodo instead.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I have never come across it. It sounds like a Windows problem.
Did you try re-installing, or if necessary uninstalling and reinstalling, following suggestions which I gave in some previous postings.

I think you are probably right about it being a Windows problem - I just wish I knew what.
I can get around the problem just now by not closing VV. That will have to do until I clear my transcription load for the week. However, first thing Saturday I will uninstall/reinstall.
I already have your helpful advice on how to go about it bookmarked. Thank you!

I had a few days of VV behaving almost normally after I posted but things went from bad to worse. I did a clean install today.
Everything is working well but I am still none the wiser as to the cause.
Anyway, thanks again for your step-by-step guidance.
