moving a program to the system tray

I've been trying out both KnowBrainer and VoicePower. The first thing that I noticed was that although they stay resident, both programs stay on the Windows XP taskbar all the time they are being used.

It seems to me that a resident program should be in the System Tray, not on the Task Bar. I've not put this question to either party until now. Is there an easier way than what I've done below?

I googled for a program to move them there. I can move them there, but I'm unsure as to their stability right now. Still working with all of this.

The program I am using is called TrayIt! from http://www.teamcti.com/trayit/trayit.htm It's a free program to use.

Anyone else done this before? What were your results? What program did you use?

We haven't tried this utility but a number of our clients are successfully using it.
