spoken form not working
Submitted by Nastajus on Tue, 06/10/2008 - 05:23.
A spoken form is not working. I don't know what else I can say.
The missing hyphen is from Stargate SG-1. It's always missing, every single time I get a space instead. This image is the proof. Every time I dictate this, I get all the characters I want, except the- Why?
Also posed in KB, for maximum eyeballs and opportunity for discussion.

Don't type the spoken form. Speak it using DNS and let the software decide what it heard. This is the best approach. You will sometimes be surprised at the words DNS will enter. It doesn't matter what the actual text is in the spoken form box. All that matters is that DNS consistently recognizes what you said.

Bruce's post implies that if you don't want to have to say the hyphens whenever you utter the spoken form, don't say them when you enunciate the spoken form in the dialog box. Indeed, he gives a general rule of which Lunis' suggestion is a particular instantiation.
