ViaVoice-text-to-speech

For some odd reason, the only computer that I could not get ViaVoice to read back was my AMD Semperon 1.8 GHz XP SP2 laptop. I mentioned this in a posting some time ago. It is a complete mystery, since text-to-speech works perfectly on my 2.6 Celeron GHz WIN 2000 desktop , Intel Core 2 Duo XP SP 3 laptop, my wife's Celeron Dell XP SP 2 laptop, my old (now deceased) HP AMD Mobile 4 900 GHz XP SP 1 laptop and my ancient 400 GHz AMD Athlon WIN 98 SP desktop.
The funny thing is text-to-speech works in the Semperon.
A total mystery.
Just in case anyone is interested (which they probably are not 
).
