another oops: CVS bites NatSpeak

Hello forum,

I just had a nasty problem: NatSpeak crashed when doing some things in the accuracy centre, for example add words from a file. After a long search I pinpointed TortoiseCVS (together with CVSNT) to cause this problem. After I removed this program from my computer I had no problems any more.

CVS is a program for "Version control".

As CVS is slowly getting obsolete as version control system, in favour of SVN (subversion), in my opinion no analysis has to be done on this issue. Just be prepared when you (still) use CVS, and move on to subversion soon.

Details:
The file that I installed is called TortoiseCVS-1.10.4.exe, and it installs two programs:

-TortoiseCVS (1.10.4) and
-CVSNT.

I downloaded this installer file from tortoise CVS.

The crash was both with NatSpeak 9.0 and 9.5 and on Windows XP.

greetings, Quintijn
