ViaVoice TTS problems in XP

I cannot get ViaVoice in WIN XP to read with sound. The agent (Brocklee) appears and will read back through its balloon. However there is no sound.

I do not have this problem in Win 2000 where TTS works perfectly.

DNS 9.5 Preferred reads back in WIN XP without any problem.

I have compared the TTS files in my XP computer against the 2000 computer, and there are no differences. I did the same with System 32 on both computers with the same result.

Any ideas for a solution anyone?

I've never used TTS but maybe you can play around with the sound output options under Control Panel | Sound and Audio Options.
