Dragon 9.5 Pro, quadriplegic users?
Some time ago, I read testimonials from a bunch of quad (disabled) users of VR/DNS. I thought it was on the emicrophones site, but only encountered one such customer there. Perhaps it was on KnowBrainer? I'm looking for others like me who have no use of their hands at all; most quads have limited function so can use toggle switches and keyboards, even if by mouthstick. But my MS makes this impossible. If anyone knows such users, I'd love to share tips with them in a quad forum. Please share e-mail addresses. DNS is a godsend for me, the command center of my entire life. But there are always new ideas and technologies and I'm way behind. (Haven't even learned how to write macros.)
Thanks,
Matthew

Hello, I am a new member. I
Hello, I am a new member. I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking Preferred™ 9.1 Windows XP. I saw an option for a chat room. Is that your discussion area for quadriplegics that you mentioned in your message? I would be interested in speaking with people who have experience in various forms of speech recognition in real time as well. I have been using Dragon NaturallySpeaking for at least 8 years and want to learn more.
Recently, I also had limited exposure to Windows Vista, (just a few hours worth,) and need to learn that more rapidly, as I may be teaching students in the next few days/weeks. I would be interested in talking to any experienced users of that platform. I think speech recognition is totally fantastic and would love to discuss it with others! I'll be on for the next few minutes if anyone wants to chat in the chat room!

Deal me in. My contributions, if any, will be limited as I spend most of my time running around the Internet, not dictating.

Hello, I just found this blog and I would like to contribute to it. First a little about me... I have been using Dragon Dictate for about 12 plus years. Originally I used 3.0. I have now been using DNS 9.5 for about six or eight months.I am a quadriplegic with SMA III, and I have a tracheotomy and I use a ventilator. Yes, it is possible to speak in sentences with a ventilator and a speaking valve.
Personally, I think that DNS 9.5 has some major flaws. I also have some questions about how to use DNS for different functions. For example: how do you "copy", "paste", "left click", "left double-click"?
I have other questions, and I am very interested in hearing from others who are "physically challenged".
Somewhere around this website I posed a question about "memory leak" in DNS. That problem still exists.

Free KnowBrainer Command Software
1 solution would be to Google physical disabilities
and forums. One website that comes to mind is Disabledonline. You might want to grab
yourself a copy of KnowBrainer
2007 because, as of a few months ago, KnowBrainer has become free to the
physically disabled. KnowBrainer basically picks up where NaturallySpeaking
leaves off and to specifically answer your question about how do you "copy",
"paste", "left click", "double-click", those
are 4 of our 11,000 + KnowBrainer commands. Example: If you want to copy
something you just say “Copy”. And... if you want to kick it up a notch you
can say something like “Copy All” or “Copy to Word” etc. If you would like to
learn more about KnowBrainer check out our What
is KnowBrainer PDF file and if you are physically disabled, click the form
at the bottom of page 1 to apply for a free copy of our $199 KnowBrainer
command software with no strings attached. Spread the word

Thanks! I submitted a request, but I will have to wait until I can prove that I am disabled somehow.
Previously I described a little bit about me. I forgot to mention that I use a software package called SoftType to assist me because I cannot press mouse buttons. Fortunately I can still move my arm enough so that I can move the mouse. The software package isn't cheap, but it does work for me.

Close Enough
We received your request and it's close
enough for us. Note that we will be issuing an update to KnowBrainer 2007 within
the next few weeks and that all future upgrades will also be free.
