Happy with Viavoice!

I have been reading the posts here for a while and it is all very interesting. I run XP and, short of disaster, I do not intend to buy a Vista computer anytime soon. I have been using VV for about eight years in my job as a transcriptionist and I like it (apart from the "system busy" correction window at times). It performs accurately and speedily for me. I can produce about 15,000 words in a day.
I understand all the stuff about no support but is there any other reason for me to be spending money (currently £99 in the UK on special anniversary offer - double the US price!) and time on Dragon?
It is dispiriting to see fans of VV constantly being accused of living in the dark ages. Please feel free to persuade me I am wrong.
Regards,
Chumpy.

Is that Chumpy or Grumpy?!

No one has accused you of living in the dark ages -- that's a reading you're imposing on the dialog and possibly expresses unacknowledged anxieties.

For that matter, we haven't even suggested that you change your SR product. We've gone out of our way to welcome and encourage you to use the forum to discuss your problems, although I think the biggest problem is the one the you aren't prepared to discuss.

What we have consistently said is that new users shouldn't be encouraged to use VV unless they receive due notice regarding the moot status of VV.

Is it unreasonable to suggest that newbies benefit from full disclosure of the realities of the SR world? Why would you construe an emphasis on fairness as an attack?!

It is certainly what is implied by you and others (who shall be nameless for the moment) in other threads Sad
