Problems with certain IE commands

I'm using DNS preferred 9.5 and IE 6.0

everything was working fine, then I had to clear my temp files and Internet cache. Now when I say "go to address bar" it won't. Neither will the command "refresh". also, the command "refresh" and "refresh window" no longer works.

However, the above commands work with Firefox. I've tried checking my options tab under IE tools and DNS, nothing appears to be different.

Any suggestions?
