VXi BlueParrot headset seems to have battery problem
My VXi BlueParrot headset purchased in March 2006 has stopped working as of this morning when I tried to connect it. When I press the button I hear no sound, when put back on charge the light on the headset itself shows green (perhaps the light is a little dimmer than usual) but as soon as I try to connect nothing happens.
I have reached the conclusion that the rechargeable battery itself has probably failed, if I may quote from an earlier thread:

Being pedantic the batteries are replaceable (in the event of failure) but only with difficulty and a screwdriver.
Actually, getting at the battery and taking it out is not really that difficult or time consuming, however I would appreciate knowing if my diagnosis seems reasonable or whether the problem is more likely to lie elsewhere (certainly a life of only 1 year seems a bit on the short side) and whether this battery is readily available from retail outlets or would need to be ordered from a specialist dealer.
Thanks

I have seen one (only)
I have seen one (only) BlueParrott with the symptoms you describe (a B1000) otherwise, like all the VXi range, they are remarkably trouble free. The fault in the one case turned out to be a problem with the charging in the base station rather than the battery but in your system it could equally be the battery.
Contact me directly - I do hold spare batteries for the BlueParrott headsets.

I am still at square one,
I am still at square one, the battery assembly you sent never arrived and I have spent the last month trying to source the individual batteries, after having no joy locally, I eventually found a place in Turin that sells them (had to make a minimum order of 30 euro + 10 postage) and today I got friend to cut the wires off the old ones and solder them onto the new ones. This appeared to be successful and the red light came on to indicate the headset is charging, however after 11 hours it is still red and as far as I can see nothing has changed, indeed I suspect the battery is not to blame after all, if I press the connect button there is no sound at all, seems completely dead.
I am going to send you everything by post (hoping that it arrives) and perhaps you will be able to fathom out where the problem lies. I apologise for writing through the forum but I have sent 3 e-mails (including one through the website facility) and never received a reply, I don't know if my address has been blacklisted or if there are other problems but I presume you do not receive them, on another occasion a year or so ago the same thing happened and I got no reply to 2 messages.

I'm sorry you have had
I'm sorry you have had problems contacting me - as you surmised I haven't received any emails.
I will obviously test the unit as soon as it appears - hopefully the postal services will work this time. I will try emailing you by the "normal" route.
