ViaVoice Back Up reminder.

It is worth backing up your user folders on a regular basis. These can be put into any backup folder located anywhere in your computer, except, of course, within the ViaVoice folder.

To locate your user folders, go to C: \ Documents and Settings \ [your user name] \ Application Data \ IBM \ ViaVoice \ Users \ [your user name]. Simply copy that folder in your backup folder.

With practice, this takes no more than 30 seconds.

It is better than using the back-up facility within ViaVoice Options, since the files are not compressed.

The other things to back up are your dictation and navigation macros, and again these can be put in the same backup folder.

On any re-installation, it is simply a matter of reversing the procedure, and having done this, simply go to ViaVoice Options, click on your user name and apply.

On first opening, you'll get a series of pop up messages. Simply click OK on each of them until the Speechbar disappears and then reopen ViaVoice.

The Dictation Macros are contained within the backed up user files and should have automatically restored, but you will have to import your navigation macros from the backup.
